DaDaFest at Alder Hey

We are delighted to be working with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, to create opportunities for patients receiving treatment in the hospital as part of the DaDaFest Artist Development programme.
Patients with an interest in arts at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital receive one to one sessions with professionals in a particular area of interest e.g. painting, or drumming, developing their artistic skills and practice, enabling them to establish their own voice and express themselves creatively.
In addition to developing artistic skills, we hope that there will be wider benefits for those involved such as increased confidence and self-belief, and genuine steps towards a career path in the arts.
We have three years of funding for the project from Children in Need. Sessions take place in wards and communal spaces at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, and online.
We also involve participants in key DaDaFest events and are excited to be able to live stream events into the hospital for people to enjoy. After 2019’s success of Stopgap Dance Company delivering a performance and interactive workshop for both patients and parents in the hospital, we are excited to be planning similar events in the near future.
